The International Gem and Jewelry tour makes its way to Houston annually. This three-day event which was first held in 1967, showcases jewelry exhibitors to over 1,000,000 customers in over 90 locations each year. The show is divided into two sectors: one for customers which is open to the general public and one which offers wholesale prices to trade members. International Gem and Jewelry Shows is proud to be providing customers spectacular jewelry events for over 44 years. International Gems and Jewelry shows represent every segment of our country that includes a loyal group of exhibitors and customers that are an invaluable part of our business. Last year over 1 million customers walked our show floors.
The international gems and jewelry, a gemstone is prized due to its deep hue and color. A Colombian emerald or possibly a Burmese ruby is prized for the deep green and red hue respectively. But nowadays there exists a trend for softer and paler colors and what’s more desirable compared to the soft leek green color of an eco-friendly amethyst. Modern jewelry designers have hailed green amethyst as the hottest and trendy gemstone. But as said before, naturally occurring green amethyst are really rare and making jewelry beyond them becomes quite a high priced thing. So, purple amethyst or colorless quality quartz is heat treated to create this beautiful gemstone. For producing green amethyst inside the laboratory, high heat is applied on the quartz crystal or purple amethyst. A lot of the purple amethyst when heat treated turns yellow colored but a majority of turn a pale green colored. Only purple amethyst or quartz made up of a unique composition of iron compounds will turn green when heat treated.
