Hints for Using Rhinestone Glue to Attach Swarovski Rhinestones
Pour a small amount of rhinestone glue into a small plastic cap, and using a toothpick or orange stick, dab small bits of glue onto the fabric. For maximum adhesion, make sure to use ample glue so that the edges of the Swarovski rhinestones are sitting in it. As you press the rhinestone into place, the glue will appear white, but it dries clear. Be sure not to let the rhinestone glue become gooey and hardened skin along the top because the Swarovski rhinestones will not stick properly. As you need it, add more glue to the plastic cap and while working on a project you should keep the glue tube or bottle covered so that it doesn't dry out. For at least 24 hours after attaching the Swarovski rhinestones, you should not move the fabric as to allow time for it to completely dry. You should give at least one week's time before washing the fabric.
What to Use for Adhering Swarovski Flatback Rhinestones to Non-Fabric Surfaces For items such as cell phones, iPods, handbags or something similar, you should use E6000 glue to attach Swarovski flatback rhinestones; This glue is similar to airplane model glue. While applying the glue, you should be aware that a theadlike string of glue may form and this needs to be wiped away quickly. For optimal results, it's best to apply a straight line of glue from the center working outward and then quickly apply Swarovski flatback rhinestones. Keep in mind that some items will need to be sanded so their surface becomes slightly roughened before applying the rhinestones so as to have better adhesion. If working on plastic flip flops we suggest you use rubbing alcohol first to remove any residue. After having applied the glue and rhinestones, allow the project to dry for at least 24 hours.
